SEPTEMBER 05 - ATTENTION TO DETAIL HELPS CREATE QUIET AND SAFE QUALITY LIVING

A select development of apartments with scenic views across a nature reserve on the outskirts of Leeds is being constructed with infinite attention to detail- even down to cavity wall construction.

G Watson Developments is creating 11 two- and three-bedroomed apartments in two blocks at Bluebell Court on the Shadwell Ring Road, which will sell for between £149,000 and £199,000 when completed at the end of the year. But they are differentiated from other developments by the quality of construction and attention to detail. Built from local stone, and featuring granite worktops, stainless steel appliances and quality finishes, the Court also features Z-Led Abutment Trays and new Acoustic Cavity Fire Barrier with integral Cavity Tray. The latter ensures Building Regulations compliance with regards to sound proofing and fire resistance within the cavity and provides added assurance of continuous cavity tray protection.

Developed specifically to meet three Building Regulation requirements in one product, the Z-Led Acoustic Cavity Fire Barrier with Integral Cavity Tray provides 30 minutes fire integrity, 15 minutes insulation integrity and provides complete cavity tray protection whilst contributing to the reduction of sound transmission in wall cavities in multi-occupancy developments.

The fire performance ensures compliance with Building Regulation Approved Document B, whilst the acoustic benefit meets Building Regulation Approved Document E1, and, when installed as per Robust Details, eliminates the need for on-site testing.

Z-Led Cavity Trays have been developed to enable effective, efficient installation of trays to eliminate the potential problems of damp proofing.   Preformed, they avoid the need to create complex shapes on site, and are virtually indestructible being manufactured from polypropylene sheet.
